Presentation skills
What a performance!

If you can’t pass on what you know effectively, others are missing out - which means you are missing out. This course will show you how to plan and deliver a relevant and interesting presentation.

If you’re not enjoying it, you’re doing it wrong

  • Why is giving a presentation so scary?
  • Why have they become so important?
  • What makes a good presentation?
  • Are there some obvious pitfalls?
  • Shall I be myself, or do I need coaching?
  • How can I overcome an attack of nerves?
  • Is there a chance I might enjoy it?

Prepare, or prepare to ‘die’

  • What if I’m not happy with the brief?
  • How important is research?
  • Should I give facts, or opinion?
  • Should I learn it, or read from notes?
  • When do I need a second opinion?
  • Should I practice on my own, or with an audience?
  • Should I be familiar with the venue, equipment etc?

Special delivery

  • What do I need to know about public speaking?
  • What if I don’t get the expected reactions?
  • What if I make an obvious mistake?
  • What if the equipment plays up?
  • Will I be able to tell if it’s going well?
  • Will I start to relax into it?
  • Is it better to try to ‘ad-lib’, or stick to the script?
